Daily Bible Study for Women: Grow in Discernment Through God’s Word

That’s why I created the Daily Moments of Discernment Bible study series.

What Is Biblical Discernment?

Biblical discernment is the ability to recognize truth from error by measuring everything against God’s Word.

In 1 John, the apostle John warns believers to look for false prophets:

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world”

1 John 4:1 (ESV)

Discernment isn’t reserved for pastors, theologians, or Bible teachers. We are all called to grow in wisdom, understanding, and spiritual maturity. And, spending time in God’s word is the best way to grow our faith.

As we spend time in Scripture, and pray for knowledge, wisdom, and discernment, the Holy Spirit renews our minds and helps us recognize what aligns with God’s truth.

Why Short Daily Bible Studies Work

Many women abandon Bible study because it’s just too hard to know where to start or, we get started, but it feels shallow. We try to find the perfect routine, uninterrupted time, or a study that moves us. If we look to the women authoring and promoting their studies, they are spending most of the time talking about their trials and victories and not much time talking about Scripture. We don’t have theological training to set out on our own (guess what? you don’t need theological training — you have the Holy Spirit.)

Consistency matters more than perfection.

Opening your mind to the Word matters more than a dedicated space, a fancy notebook, and a set of highlighters.

Inviting Christ into your day matters more than verse mapping and devotional time.

Even ten to fifteen minutes spent meditating on Scripture can:

Strengthen your faith
Open your mind and heart to the Holy Spirit
Deepen your understanding of God’s character
Help you identify false teaching
Provide encouragement during difficult seasons
Build confidence in studying the Bible for yourself

And, the small moments add up over time.

Introducing Daily Moments of Discernment

Daily Moments of Discernment is a collection of short, Scripture-centered Bible studies designed to help the reader engage deeply with God’s Word.
