“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Matthew 10:28

The verse is printed in red because these are the words of Jesus. He spoke this to his disciples before sending them to make disciples of the people in the world. Jesus didn’t promise safety. In fact, when you study the verse, you’ll find that it is just the opposite. Jesus warned his disciples that they would be persecuted for their faith and still told them “…do not fear those who kill the body…” because, Jesus warned, God can “…destroy both soul and body in hell.”
